A 54-year-old Athens woman is dead after she was struck by "several vehicles" crossing a busy road Sunday. RICHMOND, Va. The man took off and tried to carjack another vehicle but was then taken into custody, along with the woman. William "Billy" Smith, 49, and his brother Phillip Smith were both shot. It happened just after 9 a.m. on the 6200 block of Kearney . One witness was caught in the middle of two vehicles as they sped through the city at speeds topping 80 mph on 9th Avenue. Officers located Shaw on the scene with gunshot wounds.
