Recent Impact
In the past school year, 114 girls are attending high-quality schools (four public schools and five private). Twelve girls are attending university students, and sixteen are in professional school. 50 girls from the program have graduated from professional schools and are working.
Additional Activities:
- “Big Sisters” held regular meetings mentored younger girls in school.
- The center continues to serve as a safe place for the girls to meet to have fun, study, and support each other.
- Planted 250 trees to combat desertification in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
- 150 women are members of five microfinance groups. The women continued to support each other through small loans for their informal or small business income-generating activities until COVID-19 brought these to a halt.
